No Coast ("the App") is operated by Seven Notes Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.
No Coast is designed with privacy in mind. Most of your data stays on your device. The main exception is the onboarding interview described below, which is processed on our servers so the App can personalize itself for you. We never ask for your name, email address, or other directly identifying information.
Data stored on your device: Your notification schedule, check-in responses ("showed up" or "drifted"), streak data, and custom check-ins are stored only in your device's local storage. They are not transmitted to us or any third party.
Onboarding interview and personalized content: During onboarding, No Coast guides you through a short conversational interview to help you define your goal. The messages you write during this interview, and the goal summary created from them, are sent to our servers and to our AI provider to generate your personalized goal summary and check-in messages. Because the interview is open-ended, please do not enter information you would not want processed off your device, such as financial, health, or other sensitive personal details. To deliver this personalized content — and to restore it if you reinstall the App — we create a random identifier for your device the first time you open the App. This identifier is not linked to your name, your Apple ID, or any hardware identifier; it exists only to associate your generated content with your device. We also store a small amount of technical data, such as how many times the interview has been run, to prevent abuse of the service.
Subscription data: If you subscribe to No Coast Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier linked to your App Store purchase to verify your subscription. We do not receive your name, email, payment method, or Apple ID.
Anonymous analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the app. This includes events like onboarding completion, check-in responses (without message content), and feature usage. No personally identifiable information is collected. You cannot be identified from this data.
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or browsing history. We do not require you to create an account or sign in, and we have no way to identify you personally from the information we process.
The interview content you provide is used only to generate your personalized goal summary and check-in messages. Subscription data is used solely to verify your Pro subscription status and provide you with the features you've paid for. Anonymous analytics data is used to understand how people use the app so we can make it better. We do not use any of this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
RevenueCat: Manages subscription verification. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Anthropic: Provides the AI models that power the onboarding interview and generate your personalized content. The messages you write during the interview are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. Their privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Cloudflare: Hosts the servers that process the interview and store your personalized content. Their privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
PostHog: Provides anonymous analytics. Their privacy policy is available at posthog.com/privacy.
Apple: Processes all payments through the App Store. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. We do not display ads. We do not use your data for marketing purposes. The third-party services listed above process data only to provide the App's functionality on our behalf.
Data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall No Coast.
For data on our servers: the interview transcript is automatically deleted after 7 days. Your generated goal summary and check-in messages are retained for up to 12 months and are then automatically deleted. Because this content is tied only to a random device identifier and contains no identifying information, uninstalling the App dissociates you from it and it will expire on its own. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months and cannot be linked back to you.
No Coast is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the effective date.
